I purchased this toy for my 2 year old son so he could have a mitt of his own to take to baseball games. I originally thought that the ball would have velcro on it so he could hold on to the ball when it was thrown to him. There was no velcro on it & it is hard for him to catch the ball. HOWEVER, he absolutely LOVES the ball & mitt separately. The ball is light enough that he can throw it pretty far and will not hurt anyone if they get hit by it. The only thing I do not like about the ball is that it is soft enough that he can bite pieces off it if he wanted to.
